BIOTA can be updated in two ways: either partially, i.e. updating one of the database tables, or completely.
Partially
Most BIOTA tables can be updated independently of the others, with the exception of the biota_enzyme, biota_protein and
biota_reaction tables. To overcome this interdependence, an error and a message will appear if you decide to update biota_enzyme, for example, without taking its interdependencies into account. The message states that the biota_bto, biota_taxonomy and biota_pathway tables must be updated before updating biota_enzyme.
To update a single table, import the Task [table name] db creator, for example Go db creator.
Entirely
In the case of a total update of BIOTA, the Update biota db protocol must be imported.
