Note FAQ

Can I edit a validated note?

No. Once a note is validated it becomes read-only: its content, title, and folder can no longer be modified. Validation is not reversible, so make sure a note is in its final state before validating it. If you need to keep working from a validated note, you can create a note template from it or start a new note.

What happens to linked scenarios when I validate a note?

When you validate a note, all of its linked scenarios are validated as well, and the note is automatically synchronized with your space. This keeps the note and the experiments it documents finalized together for traceability.

Does the note need to be linked to a folder to validate?

Yes. A note must be linked to a folder before it can be validated, because validation also synchronizes the note into that folder in your space. If the note has no folder, set one from the Folder selector in the note's side panel first. You also need access to the folder in the space.

Can I link multiple scenarios to a note?

Yes. A note can be linked to several scenarios. This lets you include views from any of the linked scenarios in the note, and all linked scenarios are synchronized and validated together with the note. You can link or unlink scenarios from the Linked scenarios section in the note's side panel, as long as the note is not validated.
