The Form Templates page
The Form Templates page is the central place to browse, search, and create the form templates available in your data lab. A form template is the reusable blueprint that defines a form's schema — see Form overview for the difference between templates and forms.
The page displays a table listing your form templates with the following columns:
Click on a template row to open its detail page, where you can design its schema and manage its versions. Each row also has an action menu (three-dot icon) with options such as rename, tag, archive, and delete. For details, see Building and versioning a form template.
By default, the table is sorted by last modification date, with the most recently modified templates first.
How to create a form template?
To create a new form template, follow these steps:
- Open the
Form Templates page in your data lab.
- Click the + (add) button at the top right of the page.
- In the dialog, enter a Name for the template (required) and an optional Description.
- Click Save. The template is created and you are taken directly to its detail page to start designing the schema.
A newly created template starts with an empty Draft version. To define its fields, publish it, and make it usable for creating forms, see Building and versioning a form template.
How to search and filter form templates
The Form Templates page provides a search sidebar on the right side to help you find specific templates. You can filter templates using the following options:
- Name — Search by the template name.
- Tags — Filter templates by one or more tags.
For more filtering options, expand the Advanced search panel. It includes:
- Created by — Filter by the user who created the template.
- Creation date — Filter by a date range.
- Include archived templates — Show archived templates in the results.
The search panel also provides predefined saved searches at the top: Current templates (selected by default) shows only templates that are not archived, and All templates shows every template in your lab, including archived ones.
